There's more to creating a new woodland than just planting trees. It takes about 12 years for a woodland to become self-sustaining. In the early years of a 'green-field' site, weeds must be kept down, trees protected from mammals and rodents, fences maintained, and pathways cleared.
By choosing to 'adopt a plot' for a year, you will receive a certificate and details of the specific location of a unique plot in the new woodland. You will become a member of Woodland Friends and receive updates on the progress of the woodland containing your plot.
Includes: uniquely specified plot, certificate, membership
By 'sponsoring a sapling', a new native tree will be planted on your behalf in our woodland. You will receive a certificate and become a member of Woodland Friends, receiving updates on the progress of the woodland.
Includes: newly planted tree, certificate, membership
By 'sponsoring a numbered sapling', a new native tree will be planted on your behalf in our woodland. Each tree is uniquely labelled and its position recorded. You will receive a certificate and details of the specific location of your tree, and as a member of Woodland Friends you will receive updates on the progress of the woodland.
Includes: uniquely planted tree, certificate, membership, tree location
In addition to planting a new tree for you and receiving the benefits of sponsoring a numbered sapling, we will photograph the tree when it is planted and a year later so you can see its progress.
